Facebook Groups We have now set up a Facebook group for Committee members. The link will be ed to all of you…please ensure that you join! We will use this as a way of sharing information with you and as a way of helping you contact each other. Do not invite students to the group who are not committee members!

Society Store Room The society store room will be cleaned and tidied on Monday 8 th December…Everything that is not accounted for will be thrown away! An inventory form was sent out to all groups last week…please send these back by Friday 5 th December.

What Have You Done? We need to know what events, activities and socials you’ve done throughout this term. A ‘What Have You Done’ form will be sent alongside the grant forms…Please send these back!

Room Bookings There have been some problems with Room Bookings, particularly when societies have used University rooms. Please ensure these are left in a tidy state. Take before/after pictures if necessary. Contact Anil Parmar if there are any issues that arise in the near future.

Grant Forms Grant Forms will be sent out this Thursday…these must be returned by Friday 5 th December. If you have any questions about this process, please see us after the Assembly. Remember, grant funding is limited…Don’t depend on it too much!

Give It A Go Week You can still book a stall for the Give It A Go Fair! Simply visit: The booking deadline is 5pm Monday 1 st December.

Website Admin Rights All President’s will receive new admin rights for the website. You will be able to access the membership lists yourself however you won’t be able to download them! Apologies for the delay in getting this sorted…not all of you were members of your own society so it took us a while! I.S are currently changing the society accounts…these will be much easier to use and access once complete.

When Voting…. Please remember that the aims and objectives of the following groups have already been approved. Do not vote for or against them for any personal reasons….You are voting on whether you believe they have the capability to meet the needs of their members. And remember... Please be quiet during their speeches

Youth Independence Aims Pushing for UKIP representation at NTU. Reducing the levels of discrimination against those sympathetic towards UKIP by fellow students and even lecturers. The recognition that UKIP are a mainstream political party. Objectives Pushing for UKIP representation in political debates on campus. Hosting events at the university with UKIP spokespeople. Providing information to members about UKIP policy concerning young people. Encouraging members to attend action days as a group across the country.

Palestine Aims To help raise awareness among the students of Nottingham Trent University regarding Palestine. Have an active role in the NTU society through promoting diversity and togetherness. To fundraise for humanitarian causes in Palestine (e.g. medical aid) through charity events. Objectives To hold regular meetings which provide an opportunity for members to discuss current issues. To make a difference through encouraging members to partake in effective peaceful methods. To hold fundraising events in order to raise money for humanitarian causes in Palestine. To invite guest speakers to speak at our meetings as well as promoting activities such as discussions, debates, cultural events and film showings related to Palestine.

Asian Society Aims To promote diversity, equality and unity, amongst students. Help the development of students and allow them to fulfil their potential and gain confidence, amongst their peers. Celebration of Asian food, fashion, music and culture, through promoting a wide range of events. Objectives Bringing together students with Asian heritage and those interested in Asian culture, to join as one. Through various activities, we shall create a close-nit society, in which our members can form new friendships. Spread knowledge about the Asian culture, to the wider community. Building relationships with other societies, to promote cultural unity and diversity.

Costume Aims To expand our understanding/ appreciation of the industry To learn more about our history to be able to understand different costumes. To promote the study of all aspects of costume To appeal not just Art and Design students but anyone interested in socialising with people that have similar interests and hobbies. Objectives To Increase our learning with educational trips to museums, theatres, exhibitions and costume drama film nights. Weekend and evening designing or making groups for people to catch up with work or draw. To create more opportunities for people to do things together as a group. To help other societies make/help authenticate costumes Volunteer and help local events, small theatres, schools and special events.
