Cain perverted the gospel Balaam prostituted the gospel Korah Protested the gospel

Numbers 16:1,2 “Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men: And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:”

- Verse 3- And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

Apostates hunger for the spot light. Philippians 2:3- Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Titus 3:1.2- “Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men.”

Numbers 16:31-33 “And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.”

Deuteronomy 18:15- “The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.” I Timothy 2:5- “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” You see apostates are not content to merely pervert the gospel and prostitute it, they protest it.

The apostate begins by ignoring what the Bible says. Then they oppose it by holding that the Bible is not the Word of God. Until finally, they openly rebel against God’s Word. Here’s the progression: “Have gone”- “Have run”- “Perished”

Discover your spiritual gift and use it to build up the body of Christ. Do what God has called you to do. Nothing more. Nothing less. Refuse to be jealous of the role somebody else has. Recognize that all authority comes from God and be willing to submit to authority in your home and church. There is no better example of submission to authority than Jesus who submitted to the will of the Father. You’re never more like Jesus than when you submit to authority. Examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.
