AUTh’s activities 1.Report on Education Programmes and Courses on Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy Sources and Environmental Impacts This Report was completed as a contribution to Work Package 1 of the ENERESE project. It contained an overview about selected Academic Education Programmes related to Energy available at a Master’s level in Universities, Technical Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences (Polytechnics) in Greece. The information was compiled from the Programmes’ websites, verified by personal communication and processed in a uniform template. Deliverables: A report on this. 2

AUTh’s activities 2.Preparation of educational material for the course on economic analysis of energy investments a)The course consisted of the following topics: b)Economy and investments (Macroeconomics, capital cost, debt and equity structure, inflation, fiscal policy) c)Economic features of an investment (Capital expenses, depreciation, revenues and expenses, cash flows, salvage values) d)Energy investment plans and time (The time value of money, lead and implementation time, cost concepts and identification) e)Investment appraisal methods for energy production and energy conservation investments (Net Present Value, Internal Rate or Return, Life Cycle Cost, Levelized Cost of Energy, Depreciated Payback Period) f)Tools to promote energy policies and renewable energy sources (Feed in tariffs, Net metering, Alternative subsidies’ schemes) Deliverables:  A guide on the feasibility analysis of energy investments  Handouts for the five thematic units 3

AUTh’s activities 3. Materialization of the course on economic analysis of energy investments Courses were given within the frame of the MSc programme, a) by Dr. E.Giama, between June 16 th and 20 th 2014 at the State University of Novi Pazar. b) by Prof. A.M.Papadopoulos and Dr. E.Giama, between June 1 st and 3 rd at the University of Montenegro 4. Training of Mr. Marko Ignatovic Mr. Marko Ignatovic from University of Nis spent two weeks at AUTh (30.08 – ) training on the economics of energy investments. 5 The meeting took place according to plan, with the participation of 21 scientists from all the partners of the projects. 5. Preparation and hosting of the co-ordination meeting in Thessaloniki, September 22nd-23 rd 2014

AUTh’s activities 6. Review of educational material produced by other partners This task was completed by the end of 2014, resulting in a report with comments and proposals for improvement. Deliverable:  A report with comments and proposals. 7. Training of Ms. Tamara Bajc Ms. Tamara Bajc from University of Belgrade Nis spent four weeks at AUTh (23.02 – ), 2 for theoretical training for teaching staff, plus 2 weeks for training in laboratory and measurements on energy efficiency in the building sector. 6

AUTh’s activities 8. Participation in meetings Finally, members of the AUTh team participated in all of the project’s co-ordination meetings in Nis, Freiberg, Thessaloniki and Belgrade. 7
