History of Drafting (Page 3) 13 th century. Late 15 th century.

Page 4 history Cont… No need for interchangeable parts in 18 th century Architectural practice technical drawing had become the most often used for design After industrial revolution, specialized fields of engineering developed in order to meet requirements of industries

Technical Drawing Is used by architects, interior Designers, and design engineers to make detailed drawings for room layouts, vehicle and parts, or buildings Generate expressive images More or less nontechnical audience 9

 A technical sketch is a rapidly executed freehand drawing that is not intended as a finished work.  Architectural sketches for example, are a kind of diagram. 10

Manual Drafting is when you draw a design on smooth paper. T-square is on the side of the desk were it can flow over the desk and paper easily. 11

The basic drafting system requires an accurate table and constant attention to the positioning of the tools. The system includes the ability to change the angle, thereby removing the need for the triangles as well.

Computer Aided Design An oblique view of a four-cylinder inline crankshaft with pistons. Can be 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional. 14
