Grand Bahama ROD Facility Clean Water Need Current and Future Needs:  Ensure clean water is accessible and distributed to more than 40,000 people.  Ability to assess needs throughout island and Northern Bahamas and plan wide distribution of water, food and clothing accordingly is imperative. Recent Past:  Three (3) devastating hurricanes during seasons. Over 75% of homes damaged.  Storm surges sent debris and sewage into existing fresh water reservoirs; making it undrinkable  Potable water was unavailable for many days; some Grand Bahama inhabitants went as long as 3 weeks without clean water.  Fair and wide distribution based upon need did not occur.

Grand Bahama ROD Facility Water Distribution Emergency Water Distribution Process  Hold joint meetings amongst all three (3) D-6990 Rotary Clubs in Grand Bahama  Partner with key persons (e.g., church leaders, community organizations) in each community to assess need  Report continuous needs observed by Team Leaders to Coordinator  Plan allocation to individuals and families at specific locations by Coordinator  Load pallets of water bottles onto distribution trucks  Distribute water and ice to general public Targetted distribution time:  Historically = 48 hours  With ROD Plant = 24 hours All three (3) Grand Bahama D-6990 Rotary Clubs collaborate  Place persons throughout the island  "Bahama Babies“ committee handles distribution to all babies on the island

Grand Bahama ROD Facility Project Overview  Grand Bahama Water Relief Foundation has been formed as the legal entity owning this facility  Governance by 3-person Council comprised of:  one (1) Grand Bahamian Port Authority (GBPA) representative  one (1) Rotary Clubs-Grand Bahama (D6990) representative  one (1) Rotary Clubs-Bahamas (D7020) representative  To be located on New Hope Holdings land development next to the Grand Bahama Yacht Club on Midshipman Rd.  TK Foundation will fund construction of the facility  WaterMakers will maintain unit with regularly scheduled visits  Bahamas Rotary Clubs (6990 & 7020) will fund:  on-going plant and equipment maintenance  Water bottle supplies  other operational and maintenance expenses  D-6990, D-7020 and D-5280 Rotarians will landscape site together

Grand Bahama ROD Facility Summary & Next Steps  Matching Grant application submitted and accepted by TRF; Application approved Nov. 1 st, 2006  Change of location of plant to area within Port jurisdiction for a number of reasons;  New Hope Holdings is developing area in any event and a number of benefits present themselves not least of which is the tying in of our facility to their generator reducing the cost and maintenance of same were we to purchase as originally planned and budgeted. Also security will be provided within Grand Bahama Yacht Club grounds  Greater coverage of Grand Bahama residents and Northern Bahamas  Ability to supply water to the Rand Hospital in bulk in emergency situation until normal supply resumes  Ability to transport water to other islands in the Northern Bahamas in the event of a disaster  Higher and further inland ground  Easier staging of widespread distribution in the event of a disaster  Grand Bahama Water Relief Foundation formed; assets to be deployed  Architect/contractor engagements to be formalized  Ship R/O Unit, Water tanks,Support Materials from Florida  Break ground
