 According to a UNITED STATES AGENCY for INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (USAID) study,  1 out of every 4 children in developing nations is under weight - Low weight is the leading indicator of hunger

 Nearly 1 billion PEOPLE around the world live on less than $1.00 UNITED STATES DOLLAR PER DAY. › HUNGER PREVALENCE: Haiti, Kenya, Peru have serious levels of childhood hunger and poverty.

 Number of children who die from hunger:  25,000 per day, or 1,042 per hour.  UNICEF reports that the GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS has increased that number by 22 children per hour.

 INDIA - A visitor sees a boy splashing in some running water - Children love to play in water, however, in reality, the child is not playing - he is sifting the storm sewer water in his hand and eating the small grains of rice he catches with his fingers.

 CHILE (South America) – a young boy is stuffing his pockets with the lunch he receives at school - He wants to share it wit is brothers and sisters who have no food at all.

 One visitor meets a boy with RUST- COLORED hair - > it is one of the telltale signs of a malnourished child.

 Orphans and Vulnerable children: Children who have lost 1 or both parents are impacted by malnutrition, disease, and social abuses.  Individuals with HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases as disease runs rampant in poverty-stricken areas, and access to medical care is often unavailable.

 AT-RISK WOMEN - > When the death of a spouse leaves women without income, many are forced into vulnerable situations such as prostitution.  Communities in CRISIS -> Natural or ecological disasters mean people need immediate help in order to survive.
