Public Transport in Craiova Regular-accessible to all, over a specified route with predetermined stopping points. Special-based on monthly orders/contracts signed by RAT Craiova and several city big companies. Occasional - tourism routes, available by request. Urban public transport network: - radial and circular system. Fleet size and composition: buses & 34 trams. Passengers stations: - total for buses and 47 for trams.

Title of the presentation | Date |‹#› Car-pooling in Craiova According to urban and industrial configuration of Craiova, were identified two main areas of the city, where we can implement carpooling system. It is about the western industrial area and eastern industrial area of the city. The two areas selected for implementation of carpooling are located at the ends of Northwest-Southeast axis, which divides the city into two parts and make the connection between the two industrial areas. The two areas each have large parking for companies and parking places along the streets. In both areas, parking in the yard or outside of companies or on public domain are free of charge. Also, the parking along the streets in front of the companies is free of charge. The parking fees are included in the annual Tax charges for citizens of the city.

Four parkings dedicated for car-pooling under implementation (industrial companies). The concept will be implemnted into the masterplan. New terains under analyse to develop the CHUMS system in other areas.

Title of the presentation | Date |‹#› Software tool The main function of the software was to identify RAT employees living close one to each other and to communicate them via about the four nearest colleagues in order to create a group of at least 3 people who can travel together to work, by one car only, to manage the matching, the distances for each person, to calculate the reducing of the distance by applying this services. It is a web application which reserves the places in the parking lot and groups the people willing for carpooling, taking into consideration their home address. Employees, who can set up a group in order to travel by one car, can use the available parking places free of charge.

Title of the presentation | Date |‹#› The purpose of carrying carpooling week, were made the necessary preparations for promoting the carpooling concept. Were printed posters and flyers with CHUMS information. Were contacted the IT persons from the target companies, in order to manage the software dedicated to carpooling. Were contacted the managers of the target companies and were obtained permission for: - installation of dedicated software for creating carpooling groups -Displaying of posters dedicated for Carpool week & Jackpot action. -Provide to employees a flyer and a pen with information and logo for CHUMS. The target is to demonstrate that a combined package of measures which promotes and supports carpooling can achieve a 12% reduction in energy use for the journey to work at targeted employment sites.
