About our country The Czech Republic is an inland country. It lies in central Europe, that is why it´s called The Heart of Europe. The Czech Republic has 4 neigbours: Poland in the north, Germany in the west, Austria in the south and Slovakia in the east. The Czech Republic is a small country with an area of 78,867 km 2 and 10,4 mil. Inhabitants. The capital of The Czech republic is Prague which is the largest city in our country and it is also famous all over the world because of its beautiful sights. The head of our country is president. The Czech Republic is divided into 14 regions. We live in South- Moravian region. Brno is the capital of our region and the second largest city in our country.

Coins We´ve got different coins, the smallest is 1-crown coin, then we have 2-crown coin, 5-crown coin and the biggest is 50-crown coin. A 1-crown coin, 2-crown coin and 5-crown coin are smaller than other coins so they aren´t very important except for having on the back side the Czech two-tail lion, because this lion is on the back side of all of our coins. And on the 5-crown coin there is Charles Bridge on the front side.

On the 20-crown coin there is Saint Wenceslaw on the front side. He is our most famous patron saint. On the 50-crown coin there is Prague Castle and Charles Bridge and the sign: Praga Mater Orbium on the front side. On the 10-crown coin there is The Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul which is in Brno on the front side.

The biggest problem is i and y for us, because for example pil means drank and pyl means pollen. Czech has got some original letters like ž, š, č, ř, ď, ť, ň. We use more words than other languages and some of those words are really similar. Our class hasn’t got very nice grades from our mother language.
