Background 6-Apr-14© UCL PELP Project = Public E-Learning Portal Project Under the sponsorship and guidance of the VP Enterprise and VP Education Initiated in June 2012, with high level objectives to: Evaluate the UCL requirement Develop an platform for non-credit bearing CPD courses Covering browsing, enrolment, purchase and undertaking of online courses Development of supporting processes

Three Stage Approach 6-Apr-14 © UCL Review & enhance Design, develop & test Requirements & solution analysis Gathered UCL Department Requirements 45 Interviews, 13 questionnaires, 5 workshops Compared requirements against 160 platforms Shortlist of 8 Moodle recommendation Rapid pathfinder implementation Develop process for managing course content development Recruited two Instructional Designers to provide departments assistance 3 courses ready in April/May o Learn from pathfinder o Enhance payment solution o Refine processes o Plan for supporting larger course numbers o Support development of more courses o Enhance functionality Go Live

This is not the finished product… 6-Apr-14© UCL Emerging (detailed) customer requirements will need assessment The pathfinder solution has some constraints such as: Handoff to UCL onlinestore for payment One product per transaction No online multiple seat purchase or associated discount Only debit/credit card payment online, not invoice or purchase order Simple homepage and support information could be expanded
