 In the year 2040 the population of Polk County is expected to exceed 1 Million residents.  Employment forecast projects over 400,000 employees by A 79 percent increase. Looking into the future….

Long-Range Transportation Plan  This data is used to forecast travel demand and determine which transportation corridors need to be improved and where new corridors will be needed.  Extensive coordination with the TPO’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)  Update of the 2035 Forecast developed 5 years ago.  Florida Bureau of Economic & Business Research (BEBR) Forecast  2010 Census  High Growth Areas
