2 Testing and Certification Industry  One of the six economic areas where Hong Kong enjoys clear advantages  The industry provides three types of services : Testing Inspection Certification

The Industry and Technology  58% of people in the industry are professionals/associate professionals – most from science and engineering disciplines  R&D required in – adaptation of overseas testing technology development and improvement of testing methods automation of testing process 5

 Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification submitted a Report containing recommendations to further develop the industry to the Chief Executive on 31 March  Government has accepted all the recommendations  Vision – Hong Kong to develop into a testing and certification hub in the region by reinforcing the branding of “Tested in Hong Kong, Certified in Hong Kong.” 6 Three-Year Development Plan
