Year 4 trip to Downe Activity Centre- May 2015

Wednesday 13 th - Friday 15 th May 2014  2 nights, 3 days in Orpington, Kent (20 miles away)  Range of outdoor activities; abseiling, go-karting, climbing, zip wire, leap of faith, orienteering, campfire, team games.  Develops teamwork, confidence, self esteem, independence

Accommodation  Accommodation in huts on site, girls rooms and boys rooms of either 2, 6 or 8.  Toilet in each building, showers in male/ female blocks  4 female members of staff  24 hours first aid  Teachers form each school accompanying. Staff will call parents if children are unwell/ homesick  Oval cluster schools to have exclusive use of the centre

Kit! Children will need to bring some bedding, including;  Sleeping bag or single duvet  Single sheet  Pillow  These three items should be brought to school on the day of departure in a black bin bag, and your child’s teacher will give you a name sticker to put on the bedding bag when you arrive.

Kit! Children should also bring a bag or suitcase with the following items in it:- o Waterproof coat o Trainers o 3 pairs of trousers or shorts, depending on the weather o 3 T-shirts o 3 jumpers (all clothes that you don’t mind getting wet/ muddy) o 4 pairs of underwear and 4 pairs of socks o Pyjamas, slippers and a dressing gown o A wash bag containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap/ shower gel, shampoo and a hairbrush o A towel o Sun hat and Sun cream o A pair of flip-flops or other suitable footwear for walking to and from the shower block. o Spare black bin bag for damp clothes.

Kit!  Please note that all clothes should have children’s names written/sewn onto the label. If they wish children may bring a book, a pack of cards or other inexpensive game and a teddy.  No sweets, cakes or extra food  No phones  No electronic toys  No money  Cheap camera (if you have one)  Medication clearly labeled and given to me at start of trip
