Proposed business changes For efficiency and consistency of operation and quality control of Riordan plant globally, alongside with new online business system a new proposed management and production system is under implementation (Riordan & Mary, 2013). According to the procedures developed, the system will allow the management to receive information about the raw materials; it will also track products during manufacturing, as well as accounting for the finished goods. According to the assessment, this new system will eradicate both production and inventory wastes.

According to the proposed system, the orders of raw material will be paced electronically to the suppliers after which the supplier is to respond back indicating the quantities and arrival time. Upon arrival time, the container is expected to have two barcodes applied by the supplier. One of it will define shipping information and the other one will contain product information. During the delivery time, all shipping document will pass through the supervisor to scan them as the information captured electronically and recorded in the database system.

During the manufacturing raw material and sub-assemblies used will be recorded and kept in inventory system by either handheld device or workstation. This will provide real time inventory usage. When the completed product gets off the line will be barcoded and scanned automatically as the data is entered into the inventory system showing the number of product in real time completion as well as the sub-assemblies (Riordan & Mary, 2013).

Now after the sales department finishes orders, the sales orders will have to be entered into the billing system and customer system after which they are sent to FlexNet for its fulfillment. After the fulfillment of the orders and loading for shipment all the truck information including truck number, time and date of shipment is captured in billing and customer shipping system and FlexNet system so that it can enhance easily tracking incase need arises.

Internet and mobile access The new system is going to allow the internet and mobile application support. This will enable Riordan to have an up to date system that will allow mobility and flexibility within the production area (Riordan & Mary, 2013). The new system promises to allow an efficient way to maintain and manage the manufacturing environment. Unlike the old system, the new system will allow identifying and removing all the factors and causes of errors.

Riordan will also realize and increase accurate real time inventory count and eradicate undesirable mistakes. Realization of real time recording of inventory, the company can deliver their products with precision and accuracy. The management of the business will be so simple and convenient since the workers will, not be attached to desktop unlike in the other business where most of the business-setting employees are attached to their desktops.

Now with FlexNet Mobile, Riordan workers will no longer be making their enquiries in desktop leaving their working area. The employee will do their inquiry about pricing, inventory, deliveries information and product availability on their mobile devices anywhere. Since the price of these devices is affordable, the employee will have more freedom in the flow area.

The main idea is to provide faster and efficient service anywhere and anytime since papers enquiry will be minimum. The new system will benefit Riordan greatly since it will include Time and Maintenance and Labor. With the assistance of FlexNet Warehouse and FlexNet mobile applications Riordan will be able to compete globally in terms of business. The mobile application will also assist in marketing and advertising of the Riordan products. The client will also be able to access all services through their phone and can carry out business transaction lie ordering of goods and also paying for the goods online.
