Designing Question You have to create 5 different designs that are influenced by the designer Charles Renne MacKintosh The theme is storage for small items. A brainstorm for what might be stored: Jewellery Box Desk tidy Pencil case Fishing tackle box Tool box

Marks available 3 marks are available per design YOU WILL LOSE MARKS FOR THE SAME DESIGN

Expectations Designs like these will only get 1 mark each because they are not very creative. Just a simple shape with one or two details.

Designs like this will get 2 marks because they show some creativity but not much detail

Designs like these will get 3 marks because they show more creativity and lots of detail. It would be a good idea to add a few labels Read the question and look to see if it asks you to ‘sketch five designs’ or Use notes and sketches – if it asks for notes then you MUST label your ideas.

So how do I design to show some influence of Charles Rennie MacKintosh First find some pictures of his work you might like to find some more

Pick out some design features Squares/grid patterns Lines Chair with very high back Rose Flowers Also look for shapes, patterns, recurring themes
