©ACCR© Awareness of Climate Change for Regions – ACCR © Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference Workshop 4 Hamburg,

©ACCR© Specific problem to be addressed: To develop tripartite political discussion on preventing the effects of climate change in regions based on current European, national and regional discussion, law making and information from ACCR-project work packages. Currently large frame political decisions regarding environmental affairs are made on the national level if though the regions are the ones who are first suffering about the practical effects of climate change. A political influential ACCR -high level political forum of the project may help in abolishing the relevant obstacles in the tripartite based regional political decision making process and to influence thinking pro- environmentally about the possible consequences of climate change.

©ACCR© Main project activities planned: ACCR -work packages WP 1 Awareness for political decision making procedures in regions WP 2 Energy efficiency and zero/low emission energy production WP 3 Pilot-level conceptual model of climate change in urban areas WP 4 Innovative logistics models for energy efficient product life cycles in regions produce information and knowledge to support the political decision making procedures for creating models for regular regional/local policy making due to the climate change. Models can be applied later in different Baltic Sea countries.

©ACCR© Expected outputs and results: - a pilot-level conceptual model of climate change in urban areas (project lead partner regions as a living lab). -a model for sustainable public supplies including the awareness of climate change, creating indicators for public supplies, including e.g. low energy policy and other expertise created in the work packages. -further developed environmental impact assessment model influenced by the climate change -increase of political and public awareness of climate change on regional/local level and supporting the regional/local political discussion procedures and creating knowledge from regions for EU energy policy.
