Student Page Title Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits [Teacher Page]Teacher Page What holidays do you celebrate? Do any of your friends celebrate different holidays than you and your family? Have you ever wondered how people in different countries celebrate holidays? Today, you are Santa Claus. Santa is going around the world to try and figure out which groups of people want him to visit! In order to do this, Santa needs to first figure out which groups of people and countries celebrate Christmas, and who wants him to come visit this Christmas Eve. Introduction

Student Page Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits [Teacher Page]Teacher Page Today, as Santa Claus, you are going to: Discover which countries in the world celebrate Christmas. Discover which of these countries celebrate Christmas with Santa Claus. Make a list of these countries. Survey your classmates, asking who celebrates Christmas. Also, ask what their favorite holiday is. Using the template I give you, make a bar graph on each topic—who celebrates Christmas, and favorite holiday. Title The Task

Student Page Title Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits [Teacher Page]Teacher Page In order to complete this webquest, you will be divided up into groups of 2; each group being assigned a continent (South America, Europe, Asia, Africa). 1.After your pair is assigned a continent, research 4 countries/regions (2 each) in that continent, and discover if they celebrate Christmas or not. List of Countries on each Continent 2.If they do celebrate Christmas, how is it celebrated? 3.If they don’t celebrate Christmas, what holiday is celebrated around the same time of the year? How is this holiday celebrated? 4.After completing this research, survey classmates NOT in your group, and ask the following questions: a.Do you celebrate Christmas? b.What is your favorite holiday? 5.Make a bar graph, using the templates I gave you, depicting your results of each question. On one bar graph, show how many countries celebrate Christmas in comparison to your classmates. On another bar graph, show what holidays are your classmates’ favorites. The Process
