JD Sports was founded by John Wardle and David Makin in 1981 and is one of the leading retailers of sports and casualwear in the UK. The JD Group today now represents Size. Scotts, Blacks, BANK, Chausport, Sprinter and Cecil Gee, and has over 900 stores located in high streets and cities across Britain and Europe. As well as their own brand labels: McKenzie, Cabrini and The Duffer of St. George, JD stocks well known labels such as Nike, Converse, Lacoste and Adidas. Proud to bring the best of the best to its customers, JD also stocks ten other exclusive brands including Boxfresh, Rivington and O´Niell. JD offers its customers the opportunity to browse a massive variety of footwear, sports clothing, track tops and equipment both in-store and online for home delivery.

 You are expected to turn either on time or early to JD.  Always come in in your JD uniform.  Be nice even you don’t like the customer.  Treat all customers with respect.

 The letters JD in JD Sports stand for the initials of the founders of the company, John and David. The company was founded by John Wardle and David Makin in 1981 trading from a single shop in Bury.  In 1983, the Company opened a store in the Arndale Centre in Manchester. It opened its first store in Oxford Street in London in 1989 and was first listed on the London Stock Exchange in  In 2002, it acquired nearly 200 further stores with the acquisition of First Sport from Blacks Leisure Group and in 2005 it bought 70 stores from the administrators of Allsports.
