NEED A BOOK A PARTNER AND YOUR PACKET TOO!  Today you are going to be using the packet which was given to you on Tuesday.  Your focus is to learn more about the body’s systems and the SIGN of LIFE that is affected by that system.  Today, you will use this PowerPoint with a partner, a book and your packet to guide your learning.

PAGE 47 & 48  Please read these sections prior to doing anything on the worksheet: Anatomical terms & directions and locations  In your packet, there is a sheet labeled, LABEL THE GRAPHIC. There re lines along side of the body. USING A PENCIL, write in the terms on these lines after you have read the section in the book.  Be certain to label the left and right sides as well.

PAGE 49  Please look at and read the top 4 pictures.  Get acquainted with these pictures as these body positions are commonly referred to in our classes.  In your packet, there is a LABEL THE GRAPHIC that is identical to figure 4-4 on page 49.  In your packet, label the graphic accordingly, and use the colored pencils (in the back of the classroom in a plastic shoebox) to shade in the different sections. Get creative.  Return all materials appropriately.

PACKET PAGES 108 & 109  Inside your packet, complete these 2 pages.  1 is an identifier by your eye test  The 2 nd is terminology. Sure, you can use your book to help

BOOK PAGES 54 TO 55  Respiratory system is one of the most complex.  It would benefit a new student to read this section to prepare you and acquaint you with the respiratory system.  Notice any new terms and write down notes if you have a question when I return.

BPPK PAGE 55  Table 4-2 lists pediatric considerations in the respiratory system.  Scan this chart and be able to compare and contrast ton a test.

PACKET PAGES 27 AND 112  Yes, the page numbers are correct. They come from different books.  Complete these pages to best of your ability.  Can you use your book to help you? Of course you may.

FINALLY  Page 53  Read the story, WHAT IF, in the gray box (about an extra set of ribs)  So, are you ready to discuss vital signs when I come back?  We will review the packet for correct info, measure vital signs and prepare for test on body systems after a brief video.  Tomorrow, you will have 2 worksheets, one will prepare you for cardiac emergencies which we start next week.
