Regional Criteria: МИНИСТЕРСТВО ИНФРАСТРУКУТУРЫ УКРАИНЫ ГП «Ильичевский морской торговый порт» Is the part of the system of intermodal lines – international transport corridors: Transport corridor “Europe-Caucasus-Asia” (TRACECA); Transport corridor Baltic sea – Black sea (block-train “Viking” between the ports of Klaipeda and Illichivsk); Transport corridor No. 9, joining ports of Baltic Sea, Black Sea, Azov Sea and Caspian Sea. Is also the departure point of the “Viking” train. In the framework of development of the corridor “Baltic Sea – Black Sea” the Georgia and Moldova has joined to the beneficiary-countries (Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine) in March 2011, Syria and Azerbaijan considering the joining. МИНИСТЕРСТВО ИНФРАСТРУКУТУРЫ УКРАИНЫ ГП «Ильичевский морской торговый порт» Multimodal complex with berths Nos. 26, 27 and warehouse No. 26 (storage of containers and automobile vehicles) is rendering services for lines Varna-Illichivsk-Poti/Batumi and Illichivsk-Derindge. The cargo handling facilities on the berths Nos. 26, 27 is the pier, equipped with special bridge devices for joining of the coastal and ship-board railway tracks. Loading and unloading of the rail-cars is provided by rolling using locomotive. Beginning from February 2011 the new automobile-ferry line, which joining the ports of Turkey (Istanbul) and Ukraine (Illichivsk), has commenced operations. The active development of the intermodal transportation in the framework of the international transport corridors TRACECA, Baltic Sea – Black Sea and Corridor No. 9 set the missions for the SE “SCPI” for further development of the multimodal complex on the 5th terminal with possibility of using the 3rd basin of the Sukhoy estuary and railway-station “Illichivsk- Paromnaya”.

Project envisages two stages of development: 1 stage – using the non-equipped coast between the berths No. 25 (Illichivsk Fuel Terminal) and berth No. 26 (SE “SCPI”) for construction of the berth and increasing storage areas; 2 stage - using the 3 rd basin of Sukhoy estuary. Development of the multi-modal complex using the 3rd basin of the Sukhoy estuary 1 stage: For purpose of increasing the storage areas for concentration and storage of containers and high-capacity automobile-vehicles, which are transported by the railway and ferries it is envisaged: - construction of the berth adjoining the berth No. 26; - shore protection of the territory on the side of the berth No. 25; - construction of the additional storage area; - development of the road junctions and approaches to the complex.
