Thursday 9/10 RAP –What was the Great Compromise? –What was the three-fifths compromise? (Ch. 4.1-last two pages.) Objective: SWBAT describe parts of the Constitution, understand the roles of each body of government, and understand the importance of the addition of the Bill of Rights.

Four Groups —delegates choice Four groups of 8 or 9 you will justify your states position on the Article of Confederation, after reading and discussing with your delegates (members of their group) Take minutes to read the handouts and discuss as a group how to argue your groups position. Choose one member from each group as your leader, but everyone should be ready to present defend your groups position. After the class debate/ discussion ( minutes) you will answer the following questions: 1.Why might people from states with smaller populations have been satisfied with the government set up by the Articles of Confederation? 2.Why do you think some people today still oppose a strong national government? Name some issues that states might prefer to decide from themselves.
