Pesticides By: Christian Pinchefsky and Scott Pugh

Pesticide Compound  Biodiesel solvents in pesticide compositions

Organic Pesticides Structures

Orgins of Pesticides  In 1939 a chemist named Paul Muller discovered a chemical that was later called DDT.  DDT was a pesticide that was relatively inexpensive and worked wonders on killing insects in crops and orchards.

Works Citied

Orgins of Pesticides Cont.  DDT was most used because of its hardiness because of its tendency for rain not to wash it away and for the chemical being very effective with only one application.

What Pesticides Are  a substance used for destroying insects or other organisms harmful to cultivated plants or to animals.

Why Pesticides Are Used  Plants, insects, bacteria, fungi and other organisms are a natural part of the environment. Some can benefit people, while others can be pests that you may need or want to control.

What Pesticides Do  Pesticides are toxic substances released intentionally into our environment to kill living organisms.

Types Of Pesticides  Insecticides - insects  Herbicides - plants  Rodenticides - rodents (rats and mice)  Bactericides - bacteria  Fungicides - fungi  Larvicides - larvae
