2 1. Introduction What and how should an employee do to make contribution to his company? What to do?  Management by objectives (Drucker, 1954)  Performance measurement, e.g., Balanced scorecard (Kaplan & Norton, 1996) How to do?  Organization learning  Knowledge Management  Lack of certain adequate scope  cost the enterprise considerably much  difficult to make sure cost-effectiveness of knowledge Our goal To develop a framework for enterprises to undertake performance measurement and knowledge management integrally, and cost-effectively

4 Performance measurement  Target of each performance indicator can be set considering historical data, plan for the future or benchmarking  IT system is needed to provide the employee with target value and actual values Case-based knowledge  Definition: Successful improvement experience recorded by an enterprise  Major index: Performance indicator  Secondary index: Author Employee  Plan: Query the related experience and the author in case-based knowledge, refer to the experience and make plan of his own  Do: Executes his improvement plan  Check: If new knowledge is created?  Action: put his/her explicit knowledge into the database of case-based knowledge
