I was born on May 26 th, I am now fourteen years old, and I’ve lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada my whole life. It is a big city with over a million people. I have three siblings, two sisters and a brother. I am the youngest child.
My parents are both from Canada. My dad is from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. An interesting thing he always talks about is when he little there would be snow over his head. He would jump off his rooftop into the massive piles of snow! His parents are both Moose Jaw as well. My mom is from Hamilton, Ontario. Her dad was born in Scotland, and her mom was born just outside of Hamilton. We live in Calgary, Alberta and have a family of six.
My favorite thing to do in the winter in my spare time is go to the outdoor skating rink in my neighborhood. There is a picture of a similar one on the first slide. Hockey is a big part of my life, but I love playing all sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, and my family on the weekend. When I was little I would love to go out in the winter and make snowmen.
I like a variety of different styles of food. I like Greek, Vietnamese, Canadian, etc. I love going out for dinner, but my parents are great at cooking. My dad makes the best chili, and is also great at cooking on the barbeque.
I go to St. James Catholic School, and I’m in grade nine. I have been going to St. James since kindergarten, so for ten years! I usually bike to school when it is nice enough, or either walk or get a ride during winter. This is my last year at the school and I will be attending high school for the next three years. I want to go to university, like my three other siblings. My sister is in Ontario which is a four hour plane ride, and my brother is in Edmonton, which is about a three hour car ride. We keep in touch mostly by phone, and Skype.
Another thing I love to do in the winter is ski. I have skied since I was three or four, and I still love it! It only takes an hour or two to drive out to the Rocky Mountains. I usually go with my family who all ski as well. The average snowfall at one of the mountains is 30 feet, or nine meters!
I did not know much about Grenada since we started doing this project. I am very excited to see your bibliographies and learn about your life. What do you do in your spare time? How is the weather there? What is your school like?
