Student Expectations A Third Grade Student is expected to: Abide by class-generated rules and expectations (classroom constitution!) Respect other people and property. Be an active listener. Engage in lessons and class work at all times. Self-monitor and carry out all daily routines without reminders. Maintain appropriate standards of behavior. Set his or her own goals and strive to achieve them. Produce high-quality work that is reflective of his or her ability level.
Our Class Clip Chart! Students begin on “Ready to Learn.” Can be moved up and down the chart at any time.. Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior: Heading Towards Rock Bottom- Students are asked to reflect back on their behavior. Stung By a Jellyfish- Students must write a paragraph about changing their behavior Caught in a Net- Students fill out a form to be signed by parents.
Super Improvers Wall! (Academic Goal Achievement Motivation) All students start at “beginner.” Students will move up the chart throughout the course of the year as they continue to set and achieve goals, large and small. Students must fill their cards with ten stars before receiving a card on the next level.

Homework Students are expected to record their homework in their agendas every morning. Unless otherwise directed, all assignments are due the next day. If students miss two or more assignments in a week, a note will be sent home. Students are expected to complete work independently. Reader’s Response due on assigned day. Reading Logs due Fridays.
