Leo S. Rowe Pan American Fund Loan The Rowe Fund provides supplemental loans to the staff for educational studies or emergencies purposes with very competitive interest rates. Through and agreement signed with the Leo Rowe Fund, the OASSA will become the guarantor for Rowe Fund loans given to contributing staff members. The OASSA manages a special CD account. Those funds are saved to protect loans for up to US$ 30,000. In 2010, 35 contributing members were guaranteed by OASSA.
Health Insurance for domestic employees Provided by Atlas Insurance through UNFCU (Domestic employees under G5 and A3 visas) Competitive rates: 19 contributing OAS Staff members use this benefit, we well as 6 OAS representatives from their missions ( A US $21 fee is charged to manage the account.)
Loyalty Benefit A financial grant established in early 2004 by the Staff Association with the objective of relieving the families of contributing staff members of expenses incurred due to the death of a contributing staff member. The Staff Association will grant US$5,000 to the beneficiary indicated by the contributing staff member. More than 155 contributing members have registered their beneficiaries to receive this benefit
Legal Defense Fund The Legal Defense Fund has been created in order to help contributing members with legal counseling with work related issues. The OAS Staff Association will pay the first hour of legal fees.
IDRA Gym (Interior Department Recreation Association) Located in the Department of the Interior Building (1849 C St. N.W.) Special rate: Regular Membership US$ 40 + US$ 15 Enrollment fee = US$ 55. OASSA contributing members = US$ per month. Savings: US$ 22
WSC (Washington Sports Club) Sports Clubs Network Special rate: Regular Cost = US$ 80 (average) OASSA Contributing Member = US$ No enrollment fees Members will have access to all Sports Clubs locations (New York, Boston, Washington and Philadelphia Region).
Capital Bikeshare With Capital Bikeshare, you will access a fleet of 1,100 bikes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can take as many trips as you'd like during your membership period and the first 30 minutes of each trip are free! You can take an available bike, and after your ride, you can return it to any Capital Bikeshare station. Savings for OASSA contributing member= US$ 25
AMC / REGAL Theatres Tickets at preferential rates for contributing members: AMC: Offers unrestricted access, which includes special engagements. Valid 7 days a week and carry no expiration date, at only $8.50 per ticket. REGAL: $ 8.50 per ticket, and $ 1.50 upgrade fee may be paid for special events or some “selected” new release films. Tickets are valid to use at any AMC/REGAL Theatres in the U.S.
FICSA (Federation of International Civil Servants’ Associations) Founded in Paris in 1952, FICSA is a federated group of 29 staff associations/unions from organizations belonging to the United Nations common system. Actions: Defends staff rights, Ensures that equitable conditions of service for all common system staff are maintained at a level which will ensure the recruitment and retention of the most qualified people, and Contribute to building a positive image of international civil services. The OASSA pays an annual membership of US$ 450 Any Member can have access to the archives of FICSA, with the opportunity to exchange views and information about conditions of service, and seek the Federation's assistance and support when difficulties arise.
