Discipline/Social Skills  Color change cards will be used. I will write comments for an orange or red day. This is recorded on the behavior chart brought home daily.

Lunchroom Procedures  Each child has his/her own pin number.  We recommend using this account so your child doesn’t have to worry about losing money. Lunches cost $1.85 or you can deposit more into their account. Send money in an envelope with the following information: Child’s name, Mrs. Brown, Kindergarten, $___, and pin number.

Expectations  In Reading a your child should be at a level C book.  In Writing we will be writing small stories by the end of the year. They should have correct spacing, capitalization, and punctuation.  In Math they will be expected to do simple addition, subtraction, and number recognition and writing.

Attendance  Attendance is recorded at 9:45 am. If your child is not here at that time, he/she is counted absent. If your child is absent and sees a doctor, please send a note from the doctor.  Classwork begins at 8:05 every day. Please remember that when your child misses school at any time during the day, he/she misses the skills taught during that time.  Tardies are counted if a student comes to class after 8:20. Please try to get your child here on time.

Weekly Folders  This will come home on Tuesday. Please sign and return the next day, NO LATER than Friday.  The weekly report reflects behavior that is in need of improvement from the days prior to it coming home the week before.  If they need improvement in an academic area it will be noted.  Please check all the work in the folder with your child. This work is work from the week prior and can stay home.

Homework Folders  They will be brought home on MONDAY and needs to be returned on Friday. Practice every day.  Please make sure your child’s name is written on all homework.  There is homework scheduled for the week. Please take time with your child and help them with their homework.

Your child will also get to pick a library book to bring home and it needs to be able to fit.
