Lesson 4: Verbs in the Past  Go, see, do, run, and come are special.  They have special spellings to show past tense.

 The verbs give, write, eat, take, and grow are also special verbs.  They have one special spelling to show past tense.  They have another spelling when used with has, have, or had.

Examples PRESENT: I grow corn in my garden. PAST: Al grew corn last summer. WITH HAVE: We have grown many vegetables in our garden.
