Morgan Murphy Music Video Digi Pack Advert

 My artist is represented in a positive way, the lead singers face is on the cover of the digipak, however isn’t seen in any other areas of the product. This is because ‘Before the Fall’ believes that its about the music and putting on a show for the audience.  Therefore I have created a bit of mystery by having objects like a top hat, which shows the class of the artist or his love for performance as many performers in history wore top hats.  Another powerful image on my digipak is the image of a top hat connected to the protagonist with a red ribbon. The top hat represents the lead singer and as he’s telling the protagonist what she really is she is trying to get away.  The Red ribbon connotes the danger she is attached to, and the love she has for herself. Top hats in performance Image on the back of the digipak Lead singer

 This narrative is referred to parts of my digipak and my advert. The image of the protagonist, sat down on a chair with a top hat facing down tied to a chair with ribbons.  I edited words behind the protagonist, some red and some black. The black words describe how she thinks of herself, (Black is a common colour with text, so connotes that these words are very common to her and is still dark as it revels her shallow personality) and the words in red describe what others think of her.(Red connotes danger, as others are saying bad things it’s a danger to her. Red is also the colour of blood which is a sign of injury. However her injury isn’t physical, it’s emotional.)  The lyrics ‘I’m a Diva’ and ‘Cheap’ are in the song and are sung by the lead singer.  This is referred heavily in the narrative as the protagonist is obviously doubting her popularity as this new girl has come along, represented by the protagonist looking down on the digipak. A guest calling the protagonist cheap Inside cover of digipak Lead singer narrating protagonist’s life saying, ‘I’m a Diva’

 The lead singer is smirking at the camera on the front of the digipak which enhances his cheeky personality, which is shown in the music video as he winks at the camera. The direct address causes him to connect with the audience, and to show he’s telling a story.  The lack of major facial expression on the protagonists face during the video, shows off her personality as an attention seeker, as no one gives her attention, her facial expression fades to nothing  The body language of the protagonist is quite formal and stiff at the party venue as she is constantly been pushed around by the lead singer, but she doesn’t see him there, so she remains in her current position.  The titles and graphics are placed across the digipak and advert creating continuity, this makes a recognisable link between one another. The lead singer winking at the camera The protagonist keeping her posture Fonts and graphics are the same

 The colours of Black, white and dark red are shown across my 3 products. This will link them to each other so it’s easier for the audience. Black shows the formality of the dinner party, red shows the danger of people and their nasty ways. And white is a clear backdrop to show her true colours.  The lead singer is seen with a condenser microphone which gives a vintage feel to the video, as it looks like an old fashioned microphone. Along with the showing of top hats and canes.  I have represented the band as rock alternative, as there is drums and other rock instruments playing in the song. However extra instruments are added, such as a trumpet and other brass instruments.  The text in my digipak and is very sophisticated, so the theme of the vintage and posh dinner theme, goes throughout all of my products. Black, white and red in the video Condenser microphone Drums

 The album is called ‘The Dinner Party’ and the songs are divided into 3 sections, starters, main and dessert. This resembles a menu seen at a dinner party. Which all links to the music video setting.  I believe that all of my products link because of their graphics. The advert and digipak link to the song as they include some lyrics and visual things. Top Hats are mentioned in all of the products. Now people will think of the artist when they see a top hat, so I've made a good link for the audience to remember.  The images all link by objects and colour, which is a typical notion in promotional products.  The artist is successfully represented across the texts, as he’s the face of the band, he's on the front cover. Much like Brendan Urie from Panic! At the disco and the album ‘Too weird to live, too rare to die’. The titles on the back of the digipak
