THE LIBRARY WEBSITE General Information

From the HCT portal, click on Library. Then, FALCON Library Catalogue.

Or, put this URL in your Favorites: library.hct.ac.ae

From this page, you can do a Quick Search for books and other items. Enter a Keyword and choose your location.

Pull down the Resources Menu. Let’s look at the menu tabs.

In Plug In Lesson 6, we will learn more about searching. With Basic Catalog Search, you can find out if something is in the library.

We will learn more about all these features in future lessons. From Databases and e-books, you can get online dictionaries, encyclopedias, articles and many other things.

From Login/View My Record, you can see what you have borrowed. Now, let’s look at the My Library Menu.

From Library Guidelines, you can find out about library rules and information. You can find out about Library Hours, Locations & Staff.

Now, let’s look at the How do I … menu

It tells you how to borrow from other libraries. It tells you how to view your library record and other things. It tells you how to find a book.

You can link to college websites from here. Now, let’s look at the College Libraries tab.

Now a very important place : the Help tab

Explore the many features of this page. Ask your librarian if you have any questions. When you click on HELP, you come to this screen.

1.Did you know ? 2. Book of the Month 3.Featured Database At the bottom of the page, there are 3 interesting features.

Did you know ? This section features interesting facts about the HCT libraries.

Book of the Month This features an interesting book in the HCT libraries. Tell your librarian about your favorite book. Maybe it will appear here.

Featured Database This tells you about a database available from HCT libraries.
