Enterprise Life Cycle Logistics Management (LOG350) Course Review Marty Sherman Center Director – Life Cycle Logistics LCL FIPT 14 Nov 08

LOG 350 Development Strategy Competency-Based Enterprise-wide Cradle-to-Grave Life Cycle Focus: Eight complex “threaded” student team exercises span the entire life cycle; from concept refinement through system acquisition, deployment, sustainment and disposal/recycling. It follows the Integrated Defense AT&L Life Cycle Management Framework Chart (Wall Chart) Integrated Horizontally (Across the Life Cycle) & Vertically (Multi-disciplinary) Tight Integration across PLM – Leverage CL Modules as prerequisites, read-aheads and homework Hands-on active student learning Shifts from “Instructor-led” to “Instructor- facilitated” – Role of the instructor fundamentally different! – Engaged Learner, not “death by PowerPoint”

LOG 350 Feedback Student feedback - Exceptional – “This class was the best I have ever taken, not just at DAU but in any academic setting” – This is an outstanding course that should be mandatory for all senior logistics management specialists. – The best training that I have ever had before – Most productive and greatest take-aways. Minds-on knowledge than most courses lack. Wonderful course, should be mandatory for Program Managers! Supervisor feedback: – “Two of my employees attended last week…both came back with a very favorable impression of the course” (Army supervisor following first Huntsville offering) Instructor feedback: – Definitely a huge step up from LOG 304
