Environmental Hazards Improper disposal of Domestic Waste

Do We Need Any Specific Waste Storing Bins??? Waste is disposed on streets and not into the Bins...

Improper Waste Disposal – Major Impacts on Environment Death of animals specially cows, birds and stray dogs who wander and rummages through the waste for food Changes the physical, chemical and biological properties of the water bodies. It also makes soil infertile and decrease the agricultural productivity. Due to improper disposal of waste, drains also get clogged which lead to overflowing of waste water onto the streets which is a major cause of concern. Also causes mosquitoes by which various diseases like malaria, chicken-guinea, dengue etc. arise and affect the health of people adversely. Land is polluted with the waste dumped upon it, makes the soil infertile Waste lying uncollected scattered around local bins and dumped around causes bad smell as well as hazard to the human health and environment. Affects our coastal and marine environment. Affects our climate. It also causes acid rain and flash floods.

Suggestions - Prevent Improper Disposal of Waste Create awareness in people’s mind regarding environmental and health hazards due to improper disposal of waste by handbills, social networking sites, media Appoint NGOs, Trusts and other institutions who could come forward in educating people and demonstrate cleaning and proper disposal of domestic waste By keeping proper placards and notice boards in public areas regarding advantage of proper disposal of waste Govt should also have a proper waste clearance system and ensure that waste is regularly collected and cleared Information boards on proper disposal of waste in public places like hospitals, railway stations, bus stations and theatres. Proper maintenance and clearance of public garbage bins
