The world had changed a lot for the past 5 years... a lot.... why is that?

Because... the way we communicate has changed entirely changed like we live on a different Planet!

Do not forget... in the Public Relations business we have two basic words only two!

The first one is Public

And the second is Relations

So... how it was years ago.

It was like that: - Press Release - Press Conferences - Press events - Openings, Anniversaries, Product presentations...for Press - Press weekends, press corners, press....depending....

Where are they now?...press, press, press, press, press, press...

The Press is dead!

The press is now substituted by.... Social networks

A couple of main things the social networks have already changed...

1. Everyone is Public (already)

2. Everyone is a Journalist (because everyone has media )

3. Everyone is a Public Relations expert (because the purpose they have is to promote themselves)

The main principles doing PR 2.0.3xS Speed Simplicity Self Confidence

Threats The media becomes uncontrolled – no editors, no ethical control The brand might be ruined in seconds Neglecting online media Relying very much ONLY on social networks Quick changes of environment High probability of making mistake Short time to respond – requires excellent advanced preparation Own and run your media Send messages to the consumers not depending on media Quick reaction to any threat ProActive moves when decided Text, Audio & Video in a short time Control of negative feedback Crossing the borders... Enormous rich of the messages Easy to manage Opportunities

Risks of doing PR online....

1. Using Social Networks as easy Spam machines 2. Mixing the target audiences, just mislead by a number of users 3. Not understanding the difference between blogs, forums and social networks

The three never in Web 2.0. communications: Never use Social networks for direct marketing Never approach people without knowing them, unless you have a very special reason Never hide yourself when in social network

The main laws doing PR Be honest 2. Be exact to each word 3. Be always online

The modern online communications is a huge booster to the PR business all over the world... It brings changes which PR had never seen before, and makes it unique and really needed by all

New things are coming... The old will disappear...

Coming Hours availability on line days mobility all over the world - 5 minutes standard (respond to s always within 5 minutes)

Outgoing... - Printed media - Lobbying - Press conferences

a couple of main things the social networks have already changed...

and last, but not the least... - everyone speaks English, but speaks it in many different ways: one way when in person, another via s, a third way when on Skype, a fourth one on Facebook, and a fifth one when writing SMS...

The main difference in the future: PR will be a less local and more international business, since... MEDIA is already more international and less local... BE READY for a new world!.
