Location Assateague is an Island located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maryland. The land includes 37 miles of beaches and 48,000 acres of land.

Wild Ponies and Climate Wild Ponies There are 300 wild ponies in Maryland and Virginia. The wild horses were brought to Assateague by mainland owners. Climate Spring- windy and cool Summer- hot and humid Fall- warm and mild Winter- windy and damp Summer is the best time to visit this park. About 20,000 people visit this park each year.
