ENGAGING WITH COMMUNITIES

Ways of engaging with communities FIND OUT CONNECT WITH COMMUNITIES 3 LISTEN NEGOTIATE WAYS OF WORKING TOGETHER

Challenges of the work

Key messages from the project about engaging with communities

Limited available literature on the 4 areas of concern with the exception of FGM. Identifying the key partners in preventing and promoting the issues of safeguarding children and how to sustain lasting links with Faith Groups and targeted community organisations.

The absence of a simple summary child protection leaflet to hand out to individuals at seminars in different languages. Collating information : Quantitative information on the 4 areas of concern is very difficult as baseline info is almost non existent Issues outside the CPA areas of concerns which were identified as concerns from the communities.

Limited information about which community/faith group agencies exist in a given borough and what initiatives or services they are offering or may want to become involved in. Limited information about what family support services and community services the CPA can direct families to.
