3 rd Grade Curriculum Night Ms. Gloria Richardson

Welcome to my class!!! My name is Gloria Richardson and I am excited to be your child's 3rd grade teacher. It is my first year at Cotton Indian. I have been an educator for over 17 years. I previously taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 5 th grade. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Brenau University, my Master's Degree from Central Michigan, and my Specialist Degree from Argosy University. It is my belief that by working together as a team students, parents, and teachers that every student in my class will have a successful 3 rd grade year.

The Leader in Me The goal of the Leader in Me is for students to learn how to become great leaders as well as role models while keeping a positive attitude. They will learn how to set and track personal goals. They will learn how to voice their own opinion while excepting others with a positive attitude.

7 Habits of the Mind 1 Be Proactive- Be responsible 2 Begin with the end mind- Knowing what your end goal is. 3 Put first things first- Do the most important things first. 4 Think win- win- Not thinking of just yourself, but keeping others in mind. 5 Seek first to understand then to be understood- Being an active listener to get a better understanding of other viewpoints. 6 Synergize- They value other ideas and strengths. They are not robots. 7 Sharpen the saw- Taking care of your body, mind, and soul.

Class Dojo This is Cotton Indians primary resource of communications. You will be able to send and receive messages. You will receive updates on your child. You can receive photos. This is the best way for us to show you how they are displaying the 7 habits. They will be rewarded points. Please download the app to your phone. It is free. You can also see all of this through classdojo.com
