Items for tonight The Curriculum –Get a copy of the standards How can I as a Parent Help my child? Learning some “Fun Stuff”

Curriculum We need something here for standards and curriculum etc.

What can Parents do? Develop the importance of graduating high school. Keep doors open.

Setting high hopes….. Have high expectations –Achievement is shaped by our expectations. –Be positive and help establish goals.

Effort and Ability Emphasize that Effort, not ability, is what counts. Good Effort develops the understanding and success follows.

Ask your child questions…… What did you do in class today? What does your teacher expect? What work is assigned tonight? –Ask to see the finished work. (Work shown)

Create a good work area Arrange a suitable space with quality lighting and a clear space to work. Materials : pencils, paper, calculator Do NOT allow TV, phone, distractions
