Literary Terms Flashback:A break or stoppage in the plot of a selection to tell about an event in the past. Through this flashback section we tend to learn important things about the character.

Literary Terms Foreshadowing:Hints or clues presented early in a piece of writing about events that may occur later in the selection.

Literary Terms Idiom:A collection of words or a phrase that cannot be taken word for word or literally; the phrase has a second meaning that is different than what is expected. Green with envy means being jealous water under the bridge means that something is over with and forgotten
