“Throw a lifeline” The phrase “throw a lifeline” is an idiom that means to help someone who is struggling. Write about how you can “throw a lifeline” to a friend who is struggling in school. Vocabulary benign: kindly Although he looked creepy, the old man was actually benign.
Vocabulary infuse: put into The teacher infused her lessons with fun activities.
Vocabulary intolerant: unable or unwilling to accept It is not good to be intolerant of other races.
Vocabulary couched: expressed in softer or more flowery terms. She tried to couch the fact that there would be a test by saying the students would have a fun activity to complete.
