Injuries and Athletic Training Information *Athletic Trainer will be on campus one day a week *When appropriate see the athletic trainer before going to the doctor when an injury has occurred *Physical *By the first day of school

Philosophy of Playing Time and Team/Position Placement *”Gold” and “Black” Teams -Everyone makes the team, divided based on ability and success for athlete -Everyone should expect to play (unless disciplinary, injury, or attendance issues prevent playing time).

Philosophy of Playing Time and Team/Position Placement Factors in determining your son’s position assignment: *7 th grade get to try out, 8 th grade positions for the most part pre-determined * What position gives you the best chance to get on the field? *What position gives your team the best chance for success? *What position do you really want to play? -we want our kids to be motivated to play!

Player Expectations 1.Classroom – Student before athlete 2.Behavior/Character on and off the field 3.Effort 4.Unselfish – Willing to do what’s necessary to help his team 5.Willing to be a part of a family 6.Understand they represent Navo Panthers Football 24/7

Coaches’ Expectations 1.100% effort in the development of the student athlete 2.Create a positive, enthusiastic, family atmosphere that builds confidence and character 3.Make football FUN! 4.Hold your son accountable for his actions 5.Open line of communication with players and parents

Parents’ Expectations 1.Be supportive of coaches and program 2.Open line of communication with coaches 3.Demand and expect accountability for your son: classroom, playing field, off the field 4.Understand that coaches must make decisions based on what’s best for the entire program 5.Get involved! 6.Check Navo Football Website Regularly

Academic Eligibility and Tutoring No Pass/No Play: *Effective at the END of each six weeks’ grading cycle *We have 9 week grading cycles *Eligibility may be regained if the following progress report reflects all passing grades Tutoring: *We typically do not allow players to miss practice for academic tutoring *There are exceptions to this rule, but we strongly encourage our players to make arrangements for tutoring outside of practice time *7 th grade after school. 8 th grade before school

Discipline Policy At Practice: “Bear Crawls” for misbehavior in class, etc. Partial or Whole Game Suspension: Unexcused absence from practice; one or more excused absences during a given week Removal from Program: Only as a last resort; when all other options have been exhausted

Parent Communication 24 Hour Rule Don’t talk directly after a game Coaches will talk about anything pertaining to our program except: *playing time *other kids Please follow the Chain of Command when you have a grievance: *Position Coach *Head Coach *Athletics Coordinator *Principal

Parent Communication We will be FAIR to all of our kids. Universal Truth: No one’s child ever gets enough _____________. Parents at Practice: We love it; let us coach your kids. - Cannot be on field Importance of everyone “pulling the same direction.” *our kids need to hear positives from you at home.
