Dual Enrollment….. Getting Ahead!

Dual Enrollment  Dual Enrollment allows a high school student, 16 years of age, to participate in college courses while simultaneously earning high school and college credit.  Students either purse a program, sometimes link to an academic pathway or core classes (ACCEL).  ACCEL allows students to take 27 classes that will transfer to any other college/university of either USG or TSCG.

Explanation of Testing  Testing: Savannah Technical College’s entrance exam is the Compass and the Asset, which is the first step to in the dual enrollment process.  Sufficient Compass test scores for TCC’s/Diploma programs: Reading (70), Writing (32) Pre-Algebra (26)  Sufficient Asset test scores TCC’s/Diploma programs: Reading (38), Writing (37), Pre-Algebra (35)  Sufficient Compass test scores for ACCEL/Degree programs: Reading (79), Writing (62) Pre-Algebra (39) Algebra (37)  Sufficient Asset test scores for ACCEL/Degree programs: Reading (41), Writing (42), Pre-Algebra (39), Algebra (42)

Becoming Eligible…  Sufficient Compass scores for intended program  Submitted a “completed application”  Submitted a copy of “signed” social security card  Copy of photo ID (Ga. DL./Permit) or copy of birth certificate

Financial Aid  Hope Grant funds will be applicable to students who are participating in programs (i.e. Welding, Shampoo Tech, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice). Directions are designated as “GSFAPPS” attached to the STC Dual Enrollment Application.  ACCEL funds will be applicable to students who are participating in the ACCEL program (i.e. College Algebra-Math 1111, and Composition Rhetoric-English 1101). Directions are designated “ACCEL” attached to the STC Dual Enrollment Application.  Books-Could be potential cost for student
