2 Remembrance Day Also known as Poppy Day. It is a memorial day to remember the soldiers who died in the First World War. The day, specifically designated by King George V on 7 November 1919.George V Remembrance Day marks the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.

3 A two minute silence is held at 11am to remember the people who have died in wars.

4 The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem, “ In Flanders Fields“.
