Anxiety Disorders and Phobic Disorders!!! Anastasia Esposito Period 3

Introduction In this PowerPoint, I am going to talk about a disorder that can make you afraid of things that can’t harm you. I will give explanations of what this disease is and how you can help yourself and others with this disease.

Main Idea The main idea in this slide is how you can get help or help others with Anxiety and Phobic disorders.

What Anxiety Really Is Anxiety is a fear that doesn’t have a identifiable source or fear caused by a danger that no longer exists, but when anxiety is interferes with normal day life it becomes a mental disorder. When anxiety is related to a specific situation it is called a phobia disorder.

Help ! If you have these disorders or have a friend with them, you should contact a doctor so he can give a prescription to lessen your anxiety. Its important for the class to know so they can help their friends with their disorders.

An Example of Anxiety Martin was on his way to a job interview. As he walked to the elevator, he began to feel dizzy and sick. His heart began to pound, and he had trouble catching his breath.

An Example of Anxiety Continued… He knew he could not face getting into the elevator, so he walked three flights of stairs to get to his interview on time.

You should remember that anxiety is a very scary disorder for the patient that has it, so If you know someone with this disorder, try to help them and stay calm.

The End!!! In this PowerPoint, you have learned what these disorders are and how you can give and get help. So next time you see someone with anxiety, you will know a little more about what they are going through.
