F2E – Fast-Track 2 Employment

When choosing subjects: Have a clear idea about what YOU WANT TO DO when you leave school. ASK plenty of questions – teachers, parents, careers advisor, older students, online forums, websites. Be realistic – choose a pattern of study where YOU WILL SUCCEED – choose subjects you are good at – choose subjects you will enjoy.

What NOT to do: Pick subjects that you are NOT INTERESTED in, or have NO PURPOSE towards your end goal / destination. Pick a subject because YOUR FRIEND does, or because SOMEONE ELSE TELLS YOU to. Pick subjects you are just NOT GOOD AT.

TAFE Apprenticeship Traineeship University Employment Private Provider Education Unemployment

Correct pathway and subject choice is critical: The HSC is a two year commitment You will be working hard Not everyone that commences will gain a HSC A Higher School Certificate is worth more than the paper it is printed on… not everyone has one… this is the advantage that can make YOU different from many others

To qualify for a HSC you need to undertake a minimum number of BOARD DEVELOPED COURSES in Years 11 and 12. To qualify for an ATAR you also need to consider the number of CATEGORY A and CATEGORY B subjects being undertaken.

Read this booklet carefully to guide your subject selections: Future Transition Events (Pages 5) Pathway Scenarios (Pages 6-8) Possible 2016 Courses (Page 10) Board Developed Category A Course Descriptions (Pages 11-30) Board Developed Category B Course Descriptions (Pages 31-40) Board Endorsed Course Descriptions (Pages 41-46)
