Outcome 14: The learning and development needs of staff are identified based on the needs of people who use services and the skills needed from staff to ensure that the service meets essential standards of quality and safety. Staff receive the learning and development opportunities they need to carry out their role and keep their skills up to date. Where learning and development is delivered by a trainer, that person has demonstrated that they are competent to do so and, where an accreditation scheme applies, are accredited to act as a trainer for the course being provided. Care Quality Commission: Essential Standards of Safety and Quality

The report of the Commission on Adult Vocational Teaching and Learning (CAVTL) As the title says - ‘it’s all about work’! I welcome the emphasis this report puts on vocational education and training being about work – and providers and employers sharing responsibility for delivering high quality vocational education and training. Nigel Whitehead - UK Commissioner [The challenge for vocational teaching and learning professionals is] to build curriculum and assessments that replicate the uncertain, messy, problem-based, people intense, and time limited world of work. Nancy Hoffman It’s about work… Excellent adult vocational teaching and learning
