Skyline College Academic Senate Presentation 02/05/15

 Course Repeatability – the ability for any student to repeat a course regardless of circumstances.  Course Repetition – allowance for an individual student to take a course over again due to certain circumstances or the student’s characteristics (i.e. failure to pass after taking it once).

 Prior to 2012  Colleges could designate any course as repeatable  2012, effective 2013  Repeatability removed from all college classes except for  Intercollegiate athletics and other competition classes  Courses required to be repeated by CSU/UC for major  Vocational courses required for employment

 Legally mandated training  Employer mandated training  Students with verified disabilities taking a course specifically for that disability

 Art/Music classes  “Course families” created  P.E./Dance  “Course families” created  Language Arts  Additional grammar & language supplements created in learning center  ??
