LESSONS LEARNT 1. CE certificate from a notified body. Proheat use Royal Sun Alliance (RSA). This demonstrates design checks have been carried out and the unit is safe for operating at the design pressures with the materials used 2. Carrying out a separate G17 approval for the preheater itself is meaningless as design approval and appraisal should cover all aspects of the site construction 3. NGN Comments. Rectified by Proheat prior to commissioning: i. Wiring to maintain required segregation. ii. Wiring to be looped into terminations (not ‘bent in’ leading to damaged cables 4. Where units are being positioned on existing bases, design should consider potential trip hazards from preheater cables / pipework being routed from below ground to low level preheater connection points
