HONORS ENGLISH REFLECTIVE WRITING There is no longer a Reflective Writing Essay due at the end of 3 rd quarter. THE BIG QUESTION ESSAY The Big Question Essay will now be a 3 rd quarter project.

This morning’s sessions will show you ways to implement each of the four components of a One to the World learning experience. Significant content and important competencies Challenging, authentic problems in the world Public products for the world Connected with the world Student- centered discussion Reflective Writing Addressing essential questions through writing Social awareness literature and giving back Student publishing inspires writing Blogging with your students Research in the World Video-conferencing with professionals Cross-classroom test review with video conferencing

The after-lunch sessions (1:00-2:30) will allow you time to meet in grade-level teams and plan your One to the World learning experiences. You will gather by school pairs, and the rooms for each pair of schools will be clearly marked. Once in your room, divide by schools into grade- level groupings. Your department chairs will lead you in a process for writing lessons and units.

The day will wrap-up with concurrent walk- in sessions. Choose the one that appeals to you.
