F F Newton's Third Law

Newton’s Third Law "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" Forces always come in pairs - action / reaction forces. All forces arise from interactions. When objects interact, they exert forces on each other:

1. Jumping out of a boat and onto a dock. You leap forwards - unbalanced force on you. Boat move backwards - unbalanced force on boat.

Board move forwards- unbalanced force on you. 2. Moving forward on a skateboard. You push backwards - unbalanced force on Earth. balancedUnbalanced

3. If the force on the bullet is the same as the force experienced on the gun...why does the gun move very little, but the bullet moves so fast? F = m a kg kg 100 N = 111 m/s kg 100 N = 2850 m/s kg a = F m

Use Newton’s 3 rd Law to explain the forces and result: 1.A bird flying. 2.A head-on collision between two pool balls. 3.A rocket ship launching into outer-space.
