Instruction builds on students’ prior knowledge Students may know where mom and dad lived but not why they moved to that location. Some may know where there ancestors are from but may not have seen their family name registered on immigration records.

Constructive Assessment The more involved students are the more they will learn and question. Letting the students choose the presentation form (power point, prezi, poster board, etc.) gives the responsibility of completing the project back to the students.

People Learn through DI inquiry Student lead questionnaire empowers the student to continue to find the information needed/wanted.
