A FTER T ODAY … Students will introduced to the unifying characteristics of Latin America. Students will be able to locate the countries of Latin America. Students will use statistical information to rank the countries of Latin America.

L ATIN A MERICA LOCATION : The region of Latin America stretches from Mexico in the Northern Hemisphere to Argentina in the Southern Hemisphere.

L ATIN A MERICA The region of Latin America is defined by the influence of Spanish & Portuguese culture. These two languages are the most widely spoken in this region. Latin is the root of both Spanish & Portuguese In addition to language the region is heavily influenced by the Roman Catholic religion.

RANK Now rank the economic health of the countries from 1 to 17. Give 17 points to the country that you think has the strongest economy. Work down from 17 until you get to the worst economy in LA which you would give 1 point
